Back to the Hindu Future:
The Dharma Rewriter at HAF's 2026 Houston Gala
What would Hinduism look like today if we could right some of the biggest wrongs from the colonial era and beyond?
Join HAF and our cast of characters as we travel back to unravel the past and work toward a better future for Hindu Dharma traditions.
You’ll meet Krishna, a high school student who is appalled by the presentation of Hinduism in his textbook, and his teacher, Miss Clara, who is willing to fix the lesson but first wants a more authentic understanding of the tradition. When Krishna invites her to meet his family’s pundit, Doc, an incredible adventure unfolds.
At our gala, you’ll experience a special short film where you will travel through time with a motley crew and learn how certain events in the past have created some of the most pressing problems our community is facing today. We’ll also talk about what HAF has been doing to address them.
This is our most unique gala yet, one that will have your whole family laughing, cringing, and learning. Don’t miss out!
