Washington, DC (June 6, 2019) — In response to the House of Representatives passing the latest version of the DREAM Act, which intends to provide a pathway to citizenship for millions of young undocumented immigrants and immigrants with temporary status, HAF Managing Director Samir Kalra offered the following statement:

“We’re very pleased to see that the House has passed the DREAM and Promise Act of 2019. Providing a pathway to citizenship for children, who through no fault of their own are in the United States illegally, is a much needed component of the sort of comprehensive immigration reform the nation so desperately needs.”

HAF has previously called for a Congressionally mandated pathway to citizenship for undocumented children.
